Anthony Cannella, P.E. – President, Civil Engineer
Education: BS Civil Engineering, University of California, Davis
Registrations: Professional Engineer – California
Mr. Cannella’s 26 years of experience include land development, planning and design; his extensive experience is showcased in his successful track record of taking a project from its conception to completion. His experience encompasses all aspects of civil engineering, specializing in project management and engineering design for large commercial, industrial, and residential projects, land and site plan development, road alignment and lot configuration along with integrated utility and grading design.
Mr. Cannella demonstrates his aptitude to interface with clients and the public through his knowledge and experience in the industry coupled with his comprehension of issues involving community and social relationships, citizen and environmental concerns. He is adept at streamlining processes in the political and public involvement arena; this is evident in his ability to get projects done on time and within budget. Anthony and his wile Julie, in their free time, can usually be found attending one of the many activities that their four children are participating in.
Kent Hysell – CFO, Land Surveyor
Education: California State University Stanislaus – Turlock, CA
Registrations: Licensed Land Surveyor – California, Oregon, Utah
Mr. Hysell has over 30 years experience, and has successfully performed or supervised surveying services for a broad range of projects. Mr. Hysell oversees the day-to-day operations of NorthStar Engineering Group, Inc.’s survey department, and has managed up to twelve survey crews. His day to day involvement and leadership ensure the quality and performance throughout all phases of projects to assure that projects are completed on time, completed accurately following a thorough QA/QC process, and within budget. Mr. Hysell has extensive experience in research, calculations, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, aerial control surveys, construction staking, and project management.
Mr. Hysell is licensed in three states and has successfully completed projects in California, Oregon, and Utah. Mr. Hysell stays up to date and educated in surveying technology by attending training classes, classes for GPS static and real time kinematic surveying, subdivision map act classes, and Surveying Law. His surveying experience includes all aspects of field and office surveying, and management of construction projects including airports, dams, prisons, schools, highways and bridges, power plants, water and wastewater treatment plants, residential and commercial developments, and levee systems. Kent has three wonderful daughters and a grandson. Kent enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, skiing, and old car restorations.
John Mensonides, Director of Business Development – Secretary
Education: BA Degree, Business Administration, Dordt College, Sioux Center, IA
Mr. Mensonides has 25+ years of experience in the Civil Engineering, Surveying and Land Development Industries. His areas of expertise are related to the Strategic Partnerships (both Clients and Sub-consultants) and their growth. These partnerships encompass various business sectors ranging from Municipalities, Schools, Commercial Development, Residential Development and more.
Mr. Mensonides prides himself on customer service and always making sure the client and the project come first. He always has his ear to the ground, making recommendations as to the strategic direction of the company. John and his wife Linda, have two beautiful daughters, Sydney and Emily, that have been a wonderful blessing from God. In John’s free time, he enjoys spending time with family, fishing and hunting.
